Pinteresting

How do you use Pinterest?

I found Pinterest before I found teaching blogs, before I found TpT, and before I starting making printable items for you guys on my computer... yep... Pinterest was first.

My FB friends kept talking about Pinterest. They got great recipes, tips for their homes, and do it yourself projects ideas. When I go on board... I could not believe the number of amazing teaching ideas, tip, and products out there. {You mean other teachers are obsessive like me!?!}

Now, I use Pinterest every.single.day! It has single handedly allowed me to become a better teacher.
Here is how I use Pinterest!

I love the ideas Pinterest allows everyone to share with others. I now know how to organize under my bathroom cabinet using tiles, how to store bed sheet inside the pillowcases in the linen closet, and how to clean things I never knew I was suppose to clean! {Opps!}

I also love the ideas for family picture poses and baby shots, and all those Disney trip tips that I can't resist pinning.

There are also so many wedding ideas out there, but since I have been married to the hottest man every for years, I can skip over those.

I also use Pinterest to save me time! If there is an awesome recipe out there, like for cake batter rice crispy treats, that amazing Japanese dip I can now make, and some oreo thing I don't have enough calories to actually consume. Others tell me when a recipe is good enough or not

I also find amazing tech tips that save me so much time!  I have pin time saving tips like how to make all those keyboard characters, links to amazing online game sights for teachers, and cool ways to use iPads for my own little one at home and perhaps for school.

I LOVE using Pinterest to make my lesson plans! I have files for every letter of the alphabet. I pin create art projects, ideas for a book of the week, and even cooking ideas. {I love to cook with my class as often as I can.}

For example, here is a link to the letter Dd page.
-Here is a youtube link to the book and a video from Have Fun Teaching
- A sensory sand table idea for the letter Dd.
- A picture of all the FUN activities my class does with the book, If You Give a Dog a Donut... just so I don't forget to write an activity down for us to do! {Yeah, sometimes I forget everything I do!}

And the absolutely best way to use Pinterest is to collaborate with others.
I love finding others who share the love of teaching. There are so many great FREEBIES and paid items out there, many that are well worth the money I spend on them because they save me so much time.
 I love the art projects I find from Cupcake for a Teacher and Miss Kindergarten.
I love the units from Kindergarten Smiles and fun games from Live Laugh Love Kindergarten. And I love the centers created by Regan Tunstall!

I found all these ladies and so many more from Pinterest! I LOVE LOVE LOVE getting sneak peeks into classrooms for the best ideas and amazing tips for the classroom.

I always pin my newest ideas, freebies, and products to Pinterest.
Here is my NEWEST Unit... The Grouchy Ladybug.
here on TpT, here on TN
Here is a freebie sheet I attached to the download preview if you want to grab it.
  I am going to pin it for the first time today and show everyone the power of Pinterest!

So... how do you use Pinterest?

  1. I use Pinterest every day. I think I'm hooked...It has helped me so much with teaching. Whenever I am planning I take a look at my boards and see what ideas I can incorporate. It feels like Pinterest is an additional member of my team :D

  2. I also found Pinterest before I discovered the world of teacher blogs and TpT. It is truly such an amazing place where we get to share ideas and peek into one another's classrooms. I have a board for virtually ever topic, holiday, subject etc and refer to them often. Thank goodness Pinterest isn't blocked at school! :)
