During all my post planning cleaning, I got an itch to paint my shelves black. They were painted white 7 years ago and needed a make over. I have 4 of these shelves and it took less than one can of paint to cover them all three times.
Oh, the things that make teachers happy...
What is your classroom painting project you want to get to this summer?

The shelf looks great! I need to paint mine too. Mine are white (boring) but I can't seem to decide on a different color. Black looks nice!

Nice work! :) I like the black!
ReplyDeleteI just spent 15 hours painting my play house, book bins, and a shelving unit in my classroom. I've never had a theme before, but I went out on a limb and used the colors from the theme plus white. I really like it -- it pulls the "look" together. (I just hope I like it for a really long time. :))
What a difference!

That looks great! I want to buy a bookshelf & paint it red with white polka dots to go with my classroom theme. Now I just need to find the time to do it!

Learning Is Something to Treasure
Most teachers seem to shy-away from black in the classroom, but it always makes the surrounding colours 'pop' to me and liven up what you are displaying. These shelves will last you for the next 7 years, and beyond...
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you posted this. I have been thinking of painting my shelves black so that the colored bins that I use would pop on the black shelves. I was hesitant what it would look like but now I am definitely going to paint them black!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
The black definately looks sharp!
ReplyDeleteI am painting my bulletin boards - the cork that is. Going to do them chocolate brown to go with the green that I will have going on. Saving the money and agony of putting up paper and going to last longer.
