How do you feel about some Laura Numeroff
If You Take a Mouse to School...
Can you tell that I am getting excited about August? (Yes, that is when we go back!)
I have been busy working on my classroom {yes, I went in today to work on a project!}
I have also been working on stuff for August and hopefully help you guys out some fun ideas as well.
I went through my file for the first few weeks of school, and I always use this book.
I made it simple since it is the beginning of the school year. I also made it cheap.
What books do you love to read to your kids in the beginning of the year?

I like to read all the Welcome to Kindergarten Books, especially the Miss Bindergarten book.

I love to read How I Spent My Summer Vacation by Mark Teague. I then have my students write about their summer vacation.

This past year I read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. I really enjoyed this book because were able to do some alphabet activities and practiced spelling our names!
ReplyDeleteI use the Kissing Hand as a first week unit.
