Our Kindergarten centers this week were hard, but fun. I take advantage of my students' growth as much as I can this time of year. I challenge them and stretch those brains as far as I can.
(Can I brag that more than half my class knows ALL 220 sight words!)
Math- I forgot to take a picture of this center, so I use the picture from last week.
This week we did butterfly subtraction practice without counters.
This week we did butterfly subtraction practice without counters.
Writing- I made this game for my class. It has 4 buggy sentences to unscramble, one for each person who can come to the center. There is also a recording sheet to write all the sentences on.
Reading- We are learning about the -oon family so we did a -oon write and match. The pictures are from Carl's Corner and the owls and moons are from Carson Dellosa.
Phonics- We sorted long and sort i sounds by pictures.
For Unit- we did Buggy Secret Code Words and We did another week with our St. Patty Potato Project. The potato is starting to get white roots! The kids are loving it and making really great sentences.
I also have been toiling with an idea to save me art prep time. I usually write directions for art prep and items I am missing on the outside of each art file folder. I use pencil and erase to change year after year. If I have a pen instead, I scratch it out and write something else.
Overall... it is just too messy.
I made these little art prep sheets...

My idea is to print these out, write on them, then laminate. I can use an overhead marker to record what I have and need for each project. Plus, I can jot down simple directions on the back. If I am lucky enough to get a parent to help prep, BAM! It is all there for them.
What do you think? Is this helpful for you too?

Your centers look great!
